Statistics Canada has recently released a report Non-profit organizations in rural and small town Canada, 2022. While it is interesting, unfortunately, when Stats Can discusses NPOs, it is some non-profits and some registered charities all conflated together so it is hard to really use the information.
One table that is interesting is Rural Canada non-profits, estimates of active non-profit organization counts, revenues and employment by activity. According to Stats Can, there were 3.7 m employees in the “NPO” sector across Canada.
