Charities should be careful who they invite as speakers to their events or premises

Charities have valuable assets, including real estate, facilities and platform/reputation.   Charities need to be careful to ensure that those facilities are not improperly used.   The Charity Commission of England and Wales has issued an order to a charity in the UK relating to certain concerns, including speakers, and requiring more substantial oversight over who is invited as a speaker.   CRA has revoked at least one charity that I can think of for having speakers that CRA viewed as unacceptable for a registered charity.  So Canadian registered charities should have systems in place to try and prevent inappropriate speakers.
