Not sure how many people have an hour to hear me discuss with Mary Barroll, President of CharityVillage, issues facing the Canadian non-profit and charity sector. For those who are interested in the sector and its future, it may be worthwhile. I try to provide an unvarnished view of the sector and its challenges, especially relating to transparency and accountability and recent scandals. The charity sector can accept increasing low levels of public trust or it can work to avoid that. It can accept umbrella organizations that are ineffectual in achieving beneficial public policy (or uninterested in such public policy) or it can just accept the status quo.
