Federal Department of Finance Pre-budget Consultations 2022

The Federal Department of Finance Pre-budget Consultations 2022 has launched.   Although it is not mentioned on the announcement (reproduced below) the period of the consultation is January 31 to February 25, 2022.  With the occupation in Ottawa and the Russian invasion of Ukraine distracting Canadians, many will miss that window.

Here is the announcement:

Pre-budget Consultations 2022

Current Status: Open

As the world emerges from COVID-19, the government’s focus is on jobs and growth.

Pre-budget consultations are a way for Canadians from across the country to share their ideas and priorities. We want to hear your very best ideas on how to create new jobs and build a greener, more competitive, more innovative, more inclusive, and more resilient Canada.

We want to hear your very best ideas for how we can stimulate job creation, strengthen and grow the middle class, and build a better economy for everyone.

Who is the focus of this consultation?

Pre-budget consultations are an opportunity for Canadians from across the country to share their ideas and priorities for how the government can make investments to grow the economy.

Why consult?

This is your opportunity to share your vision and ideas for how we can stimulate job creation, strengthen and grow the middle class, and build a better economy for everyone. We want to hear from you on the following:

  • What is most important to you?
  • What challenges do you see ahead?
  • How can the federal government continue to support a strong recovery that benefits all Canadians?
