Finally received ATIP information on the use and abuse of CCPERB and the Canadian cultural property system

I have learnt that one sometimes needs patience when dealing with the Federal government. For example, when you put in an ATIP request, they have 30 days to respond. Thirty days may seem like a long time, but I got a nice friendly call this week from a department of the Federal government that I did not even know existed. It is called the Administrative Tribunals Support Service of Canada (ATSSC). They were calling to ask if I wanted the ATIP delivered and if so by mail or email.

I received the ATIP package by email this week relating to the Canadian Cultural Property Export Review Board. It was for an ATIP that I put in 2012! I am not joking. It appears that both Stephen Harper and Justin Trudeau both did not want this information to be made public!

Here is the 600-page redacted response:

ARB-2012-00001 – AT201600005

Here is the response letter:

Although it is heavily redacted, it still has some interesting information for those who are concerned about some people abusing the cultural property (CCPERB) system and various abusive charity gifting tax schemes.
