Co-operatives in Our Midst

August 17, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Webinar

A co-operative is an organization owned by its members that share similar economic, cultural and/or social needs. The co-op business model is proven, albeit lesser-known, and it promotes democracy, equality, equity, and solidarity. As such, co-operatives are uniquely suited to meet the needs of individuals and communities, from housing and childcare to renewable energy and retail. This webinar provides a brief overview of the sector and an opportunity learn about the more than 7,000 co-operatives that are found across Canada.

This webinar will be presented by Daniel Brunette currently Director of Strategic Alliances and Initiatives at Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada. He has more than 20 years of philanthropic management and stakeholder relations experience with non-profit organizations, as both an employee and volunteer. He has, and continues to serve, on numerous charitable and non-profit boards and committees, including being the current Chair of Outaouais Philanthropy, and as a member of the board of the Centre of Excellence in Accounting and Reporting for Co-operatives (CEARC) and the CoopZone Developers’ Network Co-operative. Daniel was awarded a United Way Ottawa Community Builder Award in 2015.

Please note: This free webinar will not be recorded.
