Provincial Corporations Moving to the Federal Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act (“CNCA”)

April 20, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Webinar

Many provincial corporate statutes in Canada are antiquated or outdated and for some provincial non-profit corporations, it may make sense to move (continue) to the Federal Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act (“CNCA”). In this presentation, we will briefly review some of the advantages of moving from a provincial non-profit statute to the Federal CNCA.

This webinar will be presented by Uma Karthigeyan of Blumberg Segal LLP. Uma is an associate lawyer at Blumberg Segal LLP in Toronto who works exclusively with charities and non-profit organizations in Canada. Uma works on non-profit corporate transactions such as incorporating non-profits and continuing them from provincial to federal jurisdiction. Uma also works extensively on charity applications and changes in objects with the CRA.
