We have blogged about the Canadian Soccer Association and its failure to do its correct filings here Canadian Soccer Association not filing financial statements with Corporations Canada as required by the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act (“CNCA”).
Now six weeks after pointing out they did not file their financial statements for many years as required for soliciting corporations, they have uploaded their financial statements. This is a minimum legal requirement not showing great transparency. You can see below 15 years of financial statements listed on their corporate profile report.

As we have noted recently in a blog, Corporations Canada has initiated a program to dissolve corporations who don’t do proper filings of their annual corporate returns. Hopefully, that will be expanded one day to Federal soliciting corporations who don’t file their financial statements.
